An extension at the rear of the home in Veldhoven, with the existing window frame reinstalled and complete finishing from floor to electrics — entirely realised by us.
For this project we built an extension of approximately 3.0 by 5.8 metres at the rear of the home in Veldhoven, from groundwork to the final finish. After excavating the foundation and pouring the concrete floor, we built up the brickwork and roof: an inner and outer leaf with cavity insulation, matching the existing facade, and a flat roof on timber joists with bitumen roofing, a 2.5 by 1 metre roof light and a zinc rainwater drainage system. What made this project special was the window frame: the existing frame from the old rear facade, approx. 3.55 by 2.51 metres, was carefully removed and reinstalled level in the new extension, giving it a second life without the need for a new frame.

Inside, the extension flowed seamlessly into the existing living room. We applied a screed floor and extended the vinyl flooring into the extension, matching the existing floor finish, with new skirting boards running through both the extension and the entire living room. The extension and living room were fully plastered, including the ceiling, the underfloor heating was expanded with two extra zones on a new 6-zone manifold, and we installed new electrics inside and out. At the rear we adjusted the fence to the new layout and prepared the patio for future re-paving.
